AccuPower® Paralytic Shellfish Poisoning Real-Time PCR Kit
AccuPower® Paralytic Shellfish Poisoning Real-Time PCR Kit enables the simultaneous detection of Alexandrium catenella, Alexandrium pacificum, and Gymnodinium catenatum—the primary causative phytoplankton of Paralytic Shellfish Poisoning (PSP)—using real-time PCR.
※ This kit is for research use only and not for use in diagnostic procedures.
※ Shipped on dry ice to maintain product quality and stability.
Overview
Alexandrium catenella, Alexandrium pacificum, and Gymnodinium catenatum, targeted by the AccuPower® Paralytic Shellfish Poisoning Real-Time PCR Kit, are major paralytic shellfish poison (PSP)-producing phytoplankton. In cases of paralytic shellfish poisoning, numbness around the lips (perioral numbness) and nausea develop within approximately 30 minutes of ingestion, and paralysis can progressively spread, potentially leading to generalized paralysis. This kit is compatible with DNA extracted from PSP-associated phytoplankton samples as well as major shellfish samples, including oysters, mussels, and Manila clams.
Features
- Convenience
Enables the simultaneous detection of three major PSP-associated phytoplankton species in a single PCR reaction. Furthermore, it is compatible not only with DNA extracted from PSP-associated phytoplankton samples, but also with DNA extracted from major shellfish samples, including oysters, mussels, and Manila clams. - High Specificity and Sensitivity
Enables target gene quantification across a wide dynamic range of 10²–10⁸ copies, specifically detecting only the targeted PSP-associated phytoplankton using target-specific probes and fluorescence signals.
