Overview

C. tropicalis is a yeast known to cause mainly candidiasis, bacteremia and neutropenia. C. tropicalis has many cases of infection in patients admitted to the Intensive care unit (ICU), and cancer patients or patients with urethral tubes inserted are more likely to be exposed to infection. C. tropicalis can survive even in a high-salt environment, so hospitals need to be careful about managing saline.
