Overview

C. coli and C. jejuni are gram-negative bacteria that cause Campylobacteriosis. C. coli and C. jejuni are known to cause acute gastroenteritis. They are most commonly infected by eating insufficiently cooked meat such as cattle, pigs, or poultry and accompanied by symptoms such as diarrhea, stomachache, and fever. In particular, Campylobacter infection is a disease that accounts for 5-14% of diarrheal causes worldwide, and in most cases, it is recovered within 2-5 days, but some patients with weakened immunity may become chronic carriers.
