Overview

P. melaninogenica is a gram-negative bacterium that causes periodontitis, pneumonia and sepsis. P. melaninogenica is known as the normal flora of the human oral cavity. In addition, it is characterized by secreting black pigment commonly found in patients with periodontitis. P. melaninogenica is an opportunistic pathogen that produces toxic factors and has various sites of infection in the human body.
