Overview

A. xylosoxidans is a gram-negative bacterium that are generally found in humid environments. If the immunity is deteriorated by chemotherapy, surgery, steroid treatment, etc., can lead to infection in the hospital. In particular, patients with cystic fibrosis are known to be easier to get infectious diseases by A. xylosoxidans such as bacteremia and pneumonia. It has resistance to various antibiotics, so antibiotic susceptibility testing is required during treatment.
