Overview

G. adiacens is a gram-positive bacterium known to cause endocarditis, bacteremia and arthritis. G. adiacens is most commonly found among the genus Granulicatella present in the oral cavity. G. adiacens is a symbiotic on the human mucous membrane surface, so it is very rare that mucosal infections lead to disease. However, infection of intravascular or central nervous system can lead to bacteremia.
