AccuPower® Streptococcus gordonii Real-Time PCR Kit

Overview

S. gordonii is a gram-positive bacterium commonly found on mucosal surfaces including the oral cavity and intestines. It is opportunistic pathogens that cause diseases such as periapical periodontitis and endocarditis. S. gordonii can settle on clean tooth surfaces and form a biofilm, which can cause inflammation at the apical edge. In addition, S. gordonii cell wall components bind to the surface of host cells, and then induce platelet aggregation and acute immune response.
