AccuPower® Prevotella intermedia Real-Time PCR Kit

Overview

P. intermedia is a gram-negative bacterium that causes periodontal infections, including gingivitis and periodontitis. It is mainly found in periodontal abscesses. P. intermedia does not directly penetrate periodontal tissue, but various components of the strain penetrate the tissue and cause inflammation and tissue destruction. Afterward, it secretes proteolytic enzymes to cause tissue destruction or induces cytokine production in host cells, resulting in inflammation.
