AccuPower® Gardnerella vaginalis Real-Time PCR Kit

Overview

G. vaginalis is an anaerobic bacterium that causes bacterial vaginosis. It is one of the bacteria in the vagina, but when it is out of balance with the other bacteria in the vagina or when a woman's immunity is low, they overgrow and cause bacterial vaginosis. If left untreated, it can lead to complications such as pelvic inflammatory disease, pelvic rupture, and fallopian tube obstruction. Also, during pregnancy, amniotic fluid may affect the baby or cause premature birth or postpartum endometritis. In order to confirm the presence of bacteria, it is necessary to conduct a test through real-time PCR after sample collection.
