Overview

B. cereus is a gram-positive bacterium known to be one of the causative agents of food poisoning. B. cereus is commonly found in soil and processed foods. Some are highly pathogenic and cause food-borne diseases in humans and are classified as food poisoning bacteria. When food poisoning occurs due to B. cereus, it causes gastrointestinal diseases such as vomiting and diarrhea.
