Overview

A. hydrophila is a gram-negative bacterium known to be one of the causative agents of fish pineal disease. A. hydrophila is mainly pathogenic to aquatic animals such as fish, amphibians and rarely to humans. Infection with A. hydrophila can result in ulceration, fin and tail rot, and hemorrhagic sepsis.
