Overview

Koi herpesvirus disease (KHVD) presents clinical signs of infection as pale or reddened body color, desquamation of epidermis, anomaly in mucus secretion, hemorrhage on the fin, and endophthalmia, etc. KHVD occurs in most continents including Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Southern Africa, and North America. It is an aquatic disease listed by the World Organization for Animal Health (WOAH).
